Tell us a bit about your background and how it helped shape the expertise you bring to CAE.
Katt began farming in the NEK in 2009, working at over a dozen operations over the years, from veggies to Christmas trees to cut flowers. The bulk of her career so far has been in Vermont’s value-added dairy industry, where she helped grow Sweet Rowen Farmstead over 12 years, got a taste of real organic at Butterworks Farm, and help start 5 Generations Farmstead Creamery in West Glover. Katt has written grants, business plans, and loan applications for numerous farms since 2012, and is excited to bring her steadfast commitment to Vermont’s local food system to her work at CAE.
