Tell us a bit about your background and how it helped shape the expertise you bring to CAE.
Upon receiving a Master’s in Sustainability Science with a special focus on sustainable agriculture, I found myself working at a food coop in Western Massachusetts. This led to being hired as the Project Manager of the Morrisville Coop which brought me back to my home state of Vermont. It was in this position that I first got involved in development work – helping to increase membership and assisting with a Capital Campaign. I then spent some time doing communications, community engagement and development for an alternative transportation organization, and then for the City of Montpelier. I began my tenure at CAE splitting my time between communications and development, and now focus on the communications of development 😉
What excites you about your work and the work of CAE?
The opportunity to sustain the work of an organization whose mission is something I deeply believe in.
What brings you joy? (work or otherwise)
Family, big dogs, woodstoves, traveling, murder mysteries and working towards leaving my small corner of the world a little bit better off than it was before I got there.
What brings you hope? (work or otherwise)
People – both those I know and not. There are so many amazingly talented, kind, and generous people out there and every time I meet or hear of one, I can’t help but feel like it’s all going to turn out ok because this person is working to make it so.
